Media Archaeology Lab Installation

This archive has an important physical presence. Located in the Media Archaeology Lab, each of these images represents the beginnings of a long term exhibit. There is an interactive station that allows users to peer into the inner workings of a 1980s scanner. It also includes screwdrivers and other material for deconstructing the scanner. There is a functional Apple Scanner and computer with old photographs to scanner. There are also a few other scanners for archival purposes. Ultimately the physical representation hopes to encourage process and critical thinking by experiencing materiality.
